Weekly Picks
frontend, webdev, codenewbie, javascript

🌟 This week we have many great lists for browser extensions, javascript libraries, and others!
As always, all posts were ranked by daily.dev community. Shout out to all the authors. 👏

So, let's get it started.

1️⃣ 10 Insanely Useful Google Chrome Extensions Every Developer Should Have in 2020

A list of 10 Chrome extensions targeted mostly for frontend developers. Unfortunately, daily.dev is not listed 😅

2️⃣ 7 Best Libraries offered by JavaScript

A list of 7 javascript libraries, most of them for running web animations. I discovered a few great libraries thanks to this list 🙏

3️⃣ Gmail is getting a massive redesign to work more like Slack

Google wants to fight back Slack and is planning a massive redesign. Google is looking to deepen the integrations between its products and to make Gmail the center of it all.
Looks rad in my opinion! 🔥

4️⃣ 10 VS Code Extensions for FrontEnd Engineer

🏅 Top VS Code extensions lists are here to stay. We have another list this week focused on front-end developers.

5️⃣ GraphQL vs REST vs gRPC

🆚 A comparison of the hottest communication protocols. Very sharp and straightforward focused on the strengths of each protocol. gRPC is still on my "need to try it out" list

6️⃣ 14 JavaScript Code Optimization Tips for Front-End Developers

Optimizing your code is a tough job but a super important one. The list covers 14 tips some are very basic but there are also advanced ones. My takeaway is not to use delete but to set the variable to undefined.

7️⃣ 13 Best JavaScript Framework For 2020

🏆 This is by far one of the best lists I've seen. It covers different javascript frameworks by category, front-end, testing, and back-end. For each framework, the author explains the pros, cons, usage stats, and companies that use this framework. Overall, this list will help you make up your mind before choosing the next stack.

8️⃣ 34 most popular JS repositories on GitHub in June 2020

🕵️‍♀️ A great list to discover new libraries to try out.

9️⃣ 🔥 What's Hot in Web Development? — Weekly Picks #136

Our list from last week that was focused on professional growth and new developer's products. 📝

🔟 Learning Go as a JS dev 🐉 ①(Not completed)

🛣 The author wants to share his journey of learning Go as a Javascript developer but the post is not complete. He is aiming in updating the content of the post as he goes (I didn't quite get it 🤷‍♂️).

🙌 Wrap Up!

That was all for this week. We will come back with another list of interesting development posts next week.
