Tool Showdown is for the moment you have to pick between two tools and every comparison you find was written by one of the vendors.

Name the two tools, and optionally what matters to you, such as cost, licence or performance. Your agent:

* runs short keyword searches that daily.dev understands: both tools together, migrations between them, the last 12 months of posts on both, and one search for your priority
* keeps only the posts that are really about these tools, and sorts them into comparisons, migration stories, recent changes and context
* labels every post vendor, adjacent or independent by the domain of the article itself, so a vendor blog shared through a community feed does not pass as neutral, and a customer story on a vendor's blog is marked as one
* notes each post's age, so a three-year-old benchmark is not treated as current
* reads the busiest comment threads for corrections and real experience, and skips praise and self-promotion
* gives a conditional verdict ("pick A if ..., pick B if ...") where every condition cites a numbered post, marks it strong or weak, and lists the questions daily.dev did not answer

It never calls a tool better in general. The verdict is strong only when an independent comparison or migration story from the last two years backs it. With fewer than two comparisons or migration stories, or none of them independent, it says there is not enough to decide, shows what daily.dev has, and suggests what to search next. Anything the agent adds from its own knowledge is labelled and stays out of the verdict.

Read-only: it does not bookmark, vote or comment. Only the two tool names and a few fixed words such as "migrate" or "cost" go to daily.dev, never your company or your numbers.

Tested on Podman vs Docker (strong verdict), Kafka vs Redpanda with cost as the priority (weak verdict, because no recent independent cost data exists on daily.dev), OpenTofu vs Terraform, and Cerbos vs SpiceDB (not enough to decide).
