Your feed knows what you follow. Branch Reads knows what you're building right now. It reads your git branch, spots the libraries, APIs and patterns you're touching, and finds the 3-5 daily.dev posts worth reading for that exact change.

Use it with your agent

Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any agent that has your daily.dev API token or is connected to the [daily.dev MCP server](https://docs.daily.dev/mcp-server/).

`Read https://api.daily.dev/public/v1/plugins/skKb0ar5s/skill.md and follow it using my daily.dev API token.`

Branch Reads turns the work in front of you into a short reading list.

Point your agent at a repository and it looks at the diff on your current branch: newly imported packages, the specific functions and hooks you started using, the patterns you introduced, and any framework version bumps. From that it picks three to five topics, searches daily.dev for each one, and returns the few posts that actually fit. Each post comes with a one-line reason tied to the file or change it applies to.

What you get:

* A reading list for this branch, ordered by what to read first, which is usually the post that de-risks the change.
* A "why for this branch" line on every post, so you know which part of your diff it helps with.
* A heads-up when a post's summary flags a gotcha that matches what you changed.
* An honest "nothing good found" for a topic instead of padded results.

Three ways to run it:

* Branch: your committed work compared with the default branch.
* WIP: only your uncommitted changes.
* PR review: someone else's pull request (needs the GitHub CLI), so you can read up before you approve.

Saving is optional and only happens when you say yes. Plus members get a bookmark folder named after the repo and branch. Free accounts can add the posts to regular bookmarks.

Privacy by design: your code never leaves your machine. The agent reads the diff locally and sends daily.dev only short public keyword queries, such as "laravel job batching" or "vue defineModel". Internal names, domain terms, file paths and URLs are never sent.

Light on your quota: at most ten searches per run, plus up to four calls if you choose to save.

How it differs from similar plugins: Stack Sync and Feed Tuner shape your long-term feed, and Upgrade Scout focuses on version bumps. Branch Reads is for the change you're making today.

Requirements: a git repository, and either the daily.dev MCP server connected to your agent or a personal access token. It works with any agent that can run git and follow a SKILL.md, including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.
