# 1,500 curl authors

The curl project has reached a milestone of 1,500 named contributors in its git repository, achieved just 4.5 years after hitting 1,000 contributors. > 1,500 contributors is a great reminder that mature open source is a team sport. Curl feels simple from the outside, but keeping it portable and reliable for decades is no small feat.
