# [2607.14587] Qubes OS Security in the Public Record

## Summary

A longitudinal analysis of 109 Qubes Security Bulletins (QSBs) from 2011–2025 examines the public advisory record of Qubes OS. The study finds that 79.8% of QSBs are attributable to upstream components — primarily Xen, CPU/microarchitectural issues — rather than Qubes-core logic. Of 464 Xen Security Advisories, 113 affect Qubes. Change-point analysis identifies 2015Q1 as the dominant structural break in quarterly advisories, while post-2018 disclosure rates are statistically flat. Vulnerability discovery models (S-shaped VDMs) fit descriptively but do not outperform a rolling-mean baseline in short-horizon forecasts. The overall picture is a stable but elevated disclosure plateau, with security burden concentrated in upstream trust anchors rather than Qubes itself.
