# 4 morning rituals for working in tech

**[Open Source Way](https://daily.dev/sources/oss)** · 17 upvotes · 3 comments

## Summary

Coffee was the first answer among the group. Caring for children and pets was second. Sharing breakfast before the virtual or in-person class begins. Meditating and exercising were mentioned as nice things that perhaps we would all get around to incorporating as our new normal becomes just more... normal.

> As I've gotten older, I can feel when my metabolism hits a low point due to 18-24h since my last workout. Best way I can describe it is a foggy head, a weird sensation around my tongue, thirsty, and overall just don't feel good. When I hit this....its generally time for a walk or workout of 30 min minimum. If I push past this point, I find the quality of my work is diminished.

> I just making some changes in my morning routine because I starting to work at midday. For example. I wake up, get a walk with my dog, 30-45 minutes at the bike, shower, and coffee. Sometimes I write for my blog and after a few readings, I start to work.
