Without it google pretty much has a monopoly over web standards. That is a very dangerous position for a company that removed “don’t be evil” from its code of conduct.\nRegardless of what one thinks of Google competition is always good, specially when developing standards that are one of the pillars of modern society.\nI wish more people would realise this but I think that web developers have a responsibility to be advocates for a healthy and prosperous internet. It’s not only about choosing which browser we use but also teaching other around us about the importance of an open internet and the importance of healthy competition. Specially in the day and age of data commoditization and the risks it represents for societies and our planet.","datePublished":"2022-05-29T09:02:05.536Z","url":"https://daily.dev/posts/Z5i7yUxdt#c-xgBneRNIr","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"João Pedro Oliveira","url":"https://daily.dev/joaooliveira85","image":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/24904733?v=4"},"interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":{"@type":"LikeAction"},"userInteractionCount":11}},{"@type":"Comment","text":"+ The devtools are awesome in firefox.","datePublished":"2022-05-29T14:55:08.919Z","dateModified":"2022-05-29T14:55:22.748Z","url":"https://daily.dev/posts/Z5i7yUxdt#c-Wbjm9fWTQ","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Posandu Mapa","url":"https://daily.dev/posandu","image":"https://media.daily.dev/image/upload/s--mDoRSPBf--/f_auto,q_auto/v1/avatars/avatar_Rh4YgFkJ8JiKojzt2CvRH"},"interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":{"@type":"LikeAction"},"userInteractionCount":5}},{"@type":"Comment","text":"Or just use brave","datePublished":"2022-05-29T13:59:48.181Z","url":"https://daily.dev/posts/Z5i7yUxdt#c-4fyIQfCJv","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Menard Maranan","url":"https://daily.dev/menard_codes","image":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/66345147?v=4"},"interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":{"@type":"LikeAction"},"userInteractionCount":3}},{"@type":"Comment","text":"I’m using Fennec, which is a fork of Firefox for Android, that lets you install not only the ‘curated’ extensions, but any that you choose, via addon collections.
