Topics become districts grouped into six realms (AI, web/mobile, systems, cloud/infra, security, and career/culture), with district size growing as the person reads more on that topic across twelve levels. Users can customize their world's sky, lighting, and crest, make it private, and view an index ranking readers by topic and activity. A new capability lets users redesign buildings and landmarks using a coding agent, previewing changes locally before publishing. Worlds are accessible at daily.dev/world/username and are public by default. ## Content Every article you read on daily.dev has been quietly building something. Today we're opening the doors to it. World turns your reading history into a place you can walk through. Every topic you read becomes a district, every district grows as you read, and the whole thing is yours at `daily.dev/world/yourusername`. ## What your world is made of - **Six realms, each its own world**: the Arcane Swarm for AI, agents and data. Frameworks for web, mobile and app dev. The Metal Forges for systems and low-level. The Shipyards for cloud, infra and ops. The Bastion for security. The Artisan's Quarter for craft, career and culture. - **A district per topic**: JavaScript in Frameworks, Rust in the Forges, Kubernetes in the Shipyards and many others. Each realm has several districts. - **Twelve levels per district**: districts start as small plots and grow into dense, lit-up quarters. Land area is the signal, so somebody can tell what you're into in about two seconds without reading a single label. - **It changes as you read**: this isn't a yearly recap poster. Cross a level and you'll get a notification that your district grew. ## Make it yours Name your world, pick the sky and the hour it sits under, fly a crest assembled from the monuments you've raised, and tune the lighting until it looks the way you want. Want it just for you? Make it private in one click and it disappears from everywhere, including the index. ## Program your world with a coding agent This is the part we're most excited about. You can replace the buildings in your world with objects you design yourself, written by a coding agent. - **Any object family**: houses, towers, halls, gardens, plants, lamps, features, landmarks and monuments. - **Realm-wide or a single district**: redesign every house in the Arcane Swarm, or give one topic its own signature landmark. - **Preview locally while you build**: iterate with your agent, publish when it looks right, revert whenever you want. Two people who read the same things shouldn't end up with the same city. The reading is yours already. This is where the rest of you shows up: the thing you'd build if somebody handed you a plot of land and a weekend. Put your taste in it, put a joke in it, put the tower you've always wanted to live in.
