# A Custom PCB For The Casio G-Shock

**[Hackaday](https://daily.dev/sources/hackaday)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Hardware hacker David Volovskiy has created a custom drop-in replacement PCB for the iconic Casio G-Shock wristwatch, paired with open source firmware that dramatically expands the watch's capabilities. The upgraded watch gains a pedometer, games like Blackjack and Wordle, moon phase display, sunrise/sunset calculation, and thermometer readings. A web-based emulator and LCD visualization tool are available for those who want to explore the firmware without hardware. The project builds on Joey Castillo's Sensor Watch, a similar replacement PCB for the Casio F-91W, and interested builders can join a Discord server to get on the list for a production run.
