# A dock that finally wakes up reliably

**[Fabien Sanglard](https://daily.dev/sources/fabiensanglard)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

A personal account of years-long frustration with Thunderbolt docks failing to reliably wake a laptop from sleep. Despite Thunderbolt 4's promise of guaranteed wake-from-sleep behavior, the CalDigit TS4 still occasionally failed. The issue mysteriously resolved after switching from a BenQ monitor to an ASUS ROG Swift (PG27UCDM) in 2025, with the author speculating the old monitor's firmware or slow wake time may have been the culprit. The post shares the working hardware configuration for others facing the same problem.
