GitHub has launched Agent Finder for GitHub Copilot, a capability that lets Copilot automatically discover the right AI resources (MCP servers, skills, agents, tools) for a given task instead of requiring manual configuration. It searches an index of available resources and returns ranked matches from any registry you point it at. The feature implements the open Agentic Resource Discovery (ARD) specification, developed with Google, GoDaddy, Hugging Face, and Microsoft. Users can point it at GitHub's public catalog or a private enterprise registry, with governance controls to restrict which resources agents can discover. No tools are auto-installed — users retain full control. Available on all GitHub Copilot plans.
