GitHub Agentic Workflows now support the built-in GITHUB_TOKEN from GitHub Actions, removing the need to create and manage personal access tokens (PATs) for automations. This eliminates security and operational risks associated with long-lived PATs. When using the Actions token in organization-owned repositories, AI credits are billed directly to the organization. To enable org billing, users must turn on the 'Allow use of Copilot CLI billed to the organization' policy and add `copilot-requests: write` to workflow permissions. Cost management options include cost centers and built-in token usage caps. The feature is available across all Copilot plans.
