The belief that AI agents can automatically understand and integrate with any API is a dangerous myth. This is the reality check people need. An agent only knows your API through the schema and descriptions you hand it, so vague field names lead straight to wrong calls. I have seen accuracy jump just from rewriting the tool descriptions to say what each field actually does.

The spec can be right and the example still wrong, and the example is what gets copied. Our polling snippet drained 10 rows a call, 96 times a day, against a feed carrying 2,726 rows in that same day. Anything following it fell about 15 hours behind within a day, while every single call returned exactly what the schema promised.
