The Linux Foundation's x402 Foundation, backed by over 40 organizations including Visa, Mastercard, Google, AWS, Stripe, and Coinbase, is building a standard for internet-native, machine-initiated payments using the HTTP 402 status code. Casper Network has also upgraded its csprUSD stablecoin to support x402 micropayments, positioning stablecoins as settlement infrastructure for autonomous software.
