# AI credits consumed per user now in the Copilot usage metrics API

**[GitHub Changelog](https://daily.dev/sources/github_updates)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

The GitHub Copilot usage metrics API now includes a new `ai_credits_used` field in user-level reports, showing total AI credits consumed per user per day. Available in both single-day and 28-day reports at enterprise and organization levels, this field helps admins connect consumption to value, understand adoption patterns across teams, and plan for usage-based billing. It is a metrics signal only and not a billed total.
