A dollar limit can be set per scope, and the gateway meters usage against it, rejecting requests once the limit is reached. Multiple budgets can apply to a single request — all must pass. Email alerts notify recipients at 50%, 75%, and 100% of a budget threshold. Default budgets can be set so any project or API key without an explicit budget inherits one automatically.
