Google DeepMind and India's Atal Innovation Mission (NITI Aayog) have launched ATL Saathi, a Gemini-powered web application designed to support educators in Atal Tinkering Labs across India. The tool provides 24/7 AI-assisted planning and training, covering 12 core curriculum modules with summarized content, AI-generated infographics, interactive quizzes, and micro-learning formats. A key feature is advanced project generation supporting both teacher-led 'push' and student-driven 'pull' mentorship models, including step-by-step assembly instructions and safety guidance. The assistant supports 8 Indian languages with flexibility to expand. The pilot is rolling out to 100 schools, aiming to reduce administrative burden on teachers and improve student innovation outcomes across 1.1 crore students.
