# Aligning LLM-as-a-Judge with Human Preferences

**[LangChain](https://daily.dev/sources/langchain)** · 7 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

LangSmith introduces self-improving LLM-as-a-Judge evaluators that eliminate the need for manual prompt engineering. When users correct an LLM evaluator's feedback in the LangSmith interface, those corrections are stored as few-shot examples and automatically fed back into the evaluator prompt on future runs. This approach draws on two research threads: the well-established effectiveness of few-shot learning in LLMs, and a Berkeley paper on aligning LLM-assisted evaluation with human preferences. The result is an evaluation system that continuously adapts to team-specific standards without requiring iterative prompt tuning.
