Aliro is a vendor-agnostic digital access control standard managed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), released in February 2026. It works over NFC, Bluetooth LE, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB), enabling interoperability between smart locks and user devices like smartphones and wearables. Similar to Matter for smart home devices, Aliro targets access control specifically, integrating with digital wallets from Apple, Google, and Samsung. It uses asymmetric cryptography for secure authentication and supports over 220 member companies including Apple, Google, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP, STMicroelectronics, and ASSA ABLOY.
