Jetpack Compose is now the official Android UI standard, with the legacy View system entering maintenance mode. Compose 1.11/1.12 introduces an experimental Styles API with significant performance gains (70% fewer allocations, 2.3x faster rendering). Android Studio gains agentic AI tools including Agent Skills, Parallel Agent Mode, a Views-to-Compose migration agent, and bring-your-own-model support via Ollama or LM Studio.
