AWS has launched Amazon EC2 I7i instances in the Europe (Paris) region. These storage-optimized instances are powered by 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors running at 3.2 GHz all-core turbo, delivering up to 23% better compute performance and over 10% better price performance compared to the previous I4i generation. Built on 3rd generation AWS Nitro SSDs, they offer up to 45TB of NVMe storage with up to 50% better real-time storage performance, 50% lower I/O latency, and 60% lower I/O latency variability. Available in 11 sizes (including two bare metal options up to 48xlarge), they support up to 100Gbps network bandwidth and 60Gbps EBS bandwidth. A torn write prevention feature supports up to 16KB block sizes to eliminate database performance bottlenecks, making them suitable for I/O-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads.
