# Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports M8i and R8i instances with Oracle SE2 License Included

## Summary

Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports M8i and R8i instance types with Oracle Database Standard Edition 2 (SE2) License Included pricing. These instances use custom Intel Xeon 6 processors exclusive to AWS, offering up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth compared to previous-generation Intel instances. The License Included model bundles software license, support, compute, and managed database service into a single subscription, eliminating the need to separately purchase Oracle licenses.
