Instead of charging based on the total size of each individual snapshot, storage is now metered based on unique data blocks across all snapshots. This incremental approach reduces costs for customers maintaining multiple snapshots for disaster recovery, testing, or long-term retention. Users can now take more frequent snapshots to improve recovery point objectives (RPO) without proportional cost increases.
