## Summary

AMD officially unveiled its 6th Gen EPYC server processor lineup at the Advancing AI 2026 event, splitting it into four distinct families: 9006 SP7, 9006X SP7, 9006 SP8, and 9006 LP. The flagship SP7 supports up to 256 cores/512 threads, 5GHz boost, and PCIe Gen6, while the 9006X variant adds triple L3 cache per core. The 9006 SP8 targets edge and general-purpose deployments with 8–128 core options, and the 9006 LP (formerly Verano) is purpose-built as an AI host node CPU using LPDDR memory. AMD also introduced a new Default CPU Power metric to replace TDP, reflecting total die power across compute and I/O dies. The flagship SP7 is in production and expected to ship in Q4 2026, with the other three families following in 2027.
