# AMDGPU Linux Driver Preps For HDMI 2.1 Compliance Testing

**[Phoronix](https://daily.dev/sources/phoronix)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

AMD is preparing 32 patches for the AMDGPU Linux kernel driver to support HDMI 2.1 compliance testing automation, specifically targeting FRL link rate testing with the Teledyne M41h compliance tool. The patch series includes AMDGPU Display Code (DC) refactoring for modularity, HDMI pipeline cleanup, and additional KUnit test coverage to catch regressions. No new end-user HDMI features are included in this round. The patches are expected to land in the Linux v7.3 cycle later in the year.
