A hobbyist has built an extensively upgraded Amiga 1200, dubbed the 'Amiga 1232 Storm CD', packing in a PiStorm 32 with Raspberry Pi CM4, a slot-loading slim DVD drive, compact flash card slot, SD card extender, VGA output via a ScanPlus AGA board, and a CD audio mixer for CD-32 compatibility — all fitted into the original wedge case with near-factory aesthetics. Custom IDE cabling, LED indicators for multiple storage devices, and a volume knob for CD/Paula audio mixing round out the build. The creator also published a Linux-native SD card image tool called emu68-bootstrap on GitHub to help others set up PiStorm systems.
