# An important update: Transitioning Gemini CLI to Antigravity CLI

**[Google Developers](https://daily.dev/sources/googledevs)** · 3 min read · 102 upvotes · 16 comments

## Summary

Google is sunsetting Gemini CLI in favor of Antigravity CLI, a new agent-first terminal experience built on the Google Antigravity 2.0 platform. Antigravity CLI preserves key Gemini CLI features including Agent Skills, Hooks, Subagents, and Extensions (now as plugins), while adding support for multi-agent workflows with a unified backend. Starting June 18, 2026, Gemini CLI and Gemini Code Assist IDE extensions will stop serving requests for free and paid Google AI Pro/Ultra users. Enterprise and Standard license holders retain access to Gemini CLI. Antigravity CLI is available to download now, with migration documentation and video walkthroughs forthcoming.
