Analyzing the evidence that helps businesses win “product not received” disputes

Analysis of one million Stripe dispute evidence packets over 16 weeks reveals which evidence types most improve win rates for 'product not received' disputes. For physical goods, combining delivery confirmation, GPS delivery maps, and recipient signatures yields a 44 percentage point higher win rate. Timing matters too — submitting evidence after confirmed delivery adds 27 points, while submitting during transit adds only 2. For digital goods, activity/usage logs add 10 points and service provisioning records add 8. Refunds processed through Stripe itself are the strongest signal, adding 63 points versus just 6 for store credit refunds. Stripe's Smart Disputes feature automates evidence assembly using these findings.
