Microsoft has released Intelligent Terminal 0.1, an open-source experimental fork of Windows Terminal with native AI agent integration. Key features include a persistent agent status bar, a context-aware agent pane (defaulting to GitHub Copilot CLI but supporting any ACP-compatible agent), automatic error detection with suggested fixes, an agent management panel for tracking multiple agent sessions, and Command Palette integration for quick agent task kickoff. The tool installs alongside existing Windows Terminal and is configurable with custom or local agents.
