Neon has launched a hosted (remote) version of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, available at mcp.neon.tech. The remote MCP server simplifies setup for AI coding clients like Cursor and Windsurf by eliminating the need to manually create API keys or manage local installations. It uses OAuth for authentication (currently in preview), communicates via Server-Sent Events (SSE), and is open-source on GitHub. Users will automatically receive new features without needing to update their local setup as Neon continues to iterate on the server's capabilities.
