# Announcing Point-in-Time Restore

**[Neon](https://daily.dev/sources/neontech)** · 6 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Neon has launched a Branch Restore feature in its console, enabling point-in-time restore (PITR) for Postgres databases. Users can restore a branch to a specific timestamp or log sequence number (LSN) within a configurable history window of up to 30 days. A Time Travel Assist feature lets developers query the database as it existed at any past point before committing to a restore, helping pinpoint the exact moment of data loss. The restore operation completes in seconds, minimizing both RPO and RTO without requiring complex backup infrastructure like pg_basebackup, WAL archival, or third-party tools such as pgBackRest or Barman.
