# Architecting for uncertainty - part 3: GenAI as an amplifier

**[Microservices.io](https://daily.dev/sources/microservicesio)** · 2 min read · 18 upvotes · 1 comments

## Summary

This is a teaser for a paywalled article arguing that GenAI coding agents alone cannot guarantee fast flow in software delivery. The core thesis is that GenAI acts as an amplifier of an organization's existing socio-technical architecture and delivery capabilities: high-performing organizations get faster flow from GenAI, while low-performing organizations get slower flow. The full explanation is reserved for paying subscribers; the free portion only summarizes the premise and links to the author's consulting services.

> The amplifier point holds up in practice. If review capacity and release flow were already the limit, faster code generation mostly fills the queue faster, so measuring lead time and work in progress before adding more AI tooling would show where a team stands.
