Researchers at Columbia University have been awarded nearly $39 million from ARPA-H to develop a living knee replacement using biomaterials and human stem cells. The project, called NOVAJoint, aims to create a biocompatible, patient-specific knee joint replacement that integrates with the patient's native bone. The researchers plan to complete prototype development within two years and conduct clinical trials within five years.
