The company simultaneously launched Pangram 4, a text detection model claiming over 99% accuracy at identifying AI-assisted writing, and Pangram Image, an AI image detector in research preview. Pangram's approach trains on tens of millions of human documents and creates synthetic mirrors to learn stylistic differences between human and AI writing — without relying on watermarks or metadata. The Chrome extension labels posts in real time across X, LinkedIn, Substack, Reddit, and Medium. Substack has already integrated Pangram's API to show readers which newsletters use AI. Hands-on testing by the reporter found the text model impressive but imperfect, occasionally flagging human-written sentences as AI-generated.
