Developer Olivier Magnier reverse engineered the ASUS ZenVision USB protocol using Ghidra on Windows, then documented the proprietary protocol and built a user-space driver and app for Linux. The open-source, MIT-licensed tools (written in Python) allow ASUS Zenbook laptops with the ZenVision 3.5-inch monochrome lid screen to display live applets and custom animations under Linux.
