Europe's first exascale supercomputer, JUPITER, located at Germany's Forschungszentrum Jülich and powered by NVIDIA Grace Hopper Superchips, is delivering breakthroughs across four major scientific domains. CytoNet, a foundation model for brain microarchitecture, was trained in under five days on 6.5 petabytes of data from 4,096 GH200 chips. The ICON climate model won the Gordon Bell Prize by simulating a fully coupled Earth system at 1-kilometer resolution on 20,480 Grace Hopper chips. Ericsson and Jülich are collaborating on brain-inspired AI architectures for 6G networks using JUPITER as the compute backbone. Finally, researchers set a world record by fully simulating a universal 50-qubit quantum computer, surpassing the previous 48-qubit record, leveraging the coherent CPU-GPU memory architecture of the GH200 chips.
