AWS has introduced Kiro Crew, an open source agentic workspace for its Kiro AI coding tool. It lets developers asynchronously assign tasks to autonomous AI agents that can test code, triage issue queues, and investigate incidents while maintaining context across sessions. Kiro Crew uses the Agent Client Protocol (ACP) to orchestrate multiple sub-agents, providing real-time visibility into each agent's reasoning, tool calls, and results via an Activity view. It also observes developer workflows to recommend and auto-generate reusable AI skills. Security features include an OS-level sandbox, denied-by-default commands, suspicious-pattern blocking, credential redaction, and a signed audit log. Over 500 internal AWS developers contributed to the project, which is already used by thousands of AWS developers. Windows support is planned next.
