AWS has launched the AWS Sustainability console, a free standalone service that lets customers track their carbon emissions from AWS usage. Unlike the previous Customer Carbon Footprint Tool (CCFT) embedded in the Billing console, this new service allows sustainability professionals to access emissions data without needing billing permissions. It supports market-based and location-based emissions calculations, breakdowns by AWS Region, service, and emissions scope (1, 2, 3), customizable visualizations, fiscal year configuration, CSV exports, and API/SDK integration. Currently available in US East (N. Virginia) with data covering all commercial AWS regions.
