It automatically discovers Azure VMs, containers, serverless functions, and identities, checking them against the CIS Azure Foundations Benchmark and surfacing findings alongside AWS results in a unified queue. The update also introduces GuardDuty AI Protection for Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker workloads (detecting prompt injection, anomalous model invocations, and credential-based cost harvesting), AI-powered automated investigations (in preview), and a free AI asset inventory. Microsoft Defender for Cloud has offered cross-cloud posture management since 2021, and Google's Wiz acquisition covers all three major clouds, making this a crowded but strategically important space.
