Azure DevOps Remote MCP Server Reaches General Availability

Microsoft has launched the Azure DevOps Remote MCP Server as a generally available cloud-hosted service, enabling AI assistants to securely connect to Azure DevOps projects without local installation. Developers configure their AI clients to connect to a hosted endpoint at https://mcp.dev.azure.com/{organization} using Streamable HTTP and Microsoft Entra authentication. Supported clients include VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Visual Studio, and GitHub Copilot CLI. Clients like ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor are not yet supported due to missing OAuth capabilities in Microsoft Entra. The local MCP Server remains supported and has been aligned in feature parity with the remote version.
