# BAT Roadmap 4.0

## Summary

Brave has published BAT Roadmap 4.0, outlining a major evolution of the Basic Attention Token ecosystem. Key initiatives include: support for x402 and Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) for agentic/autonomous payments; a redesigned unified Brave Wallet combining traditional payment methods, crypto accounts, and Brave Rewards; BravePay, a stablecoin protocol layer for private peer-to-peer and e-commerce transactions; a Brave Rewards Card (virtual and physical) earning BAT on everyday purchases; a Creator Contribution Protocol to compensate creators when AI uses their content; and open-source BravePay and Rewards SDKs for developers and merchants. Revenue from these features will fund BAT buybacks to sustain user and creator rewards. The roadmap also phases out Brave Ads notification units by end of 2026, replacing them with an Offer Wall and loyalty tiers.
