ALC Taipei (Apache Local Community Taipei) made history by bringing a dedicated ASF open-source showcase to Computex 2026, mobilizing over 30 members across five days to promote the Apache Way. The event featured maintainers from projects including Apache Kafka, Airflow, Ozone, Mahout, YuniKorn, DataFusion, and Gravitino, alongside contributors from Ray and Flyte. Beyond the booth, ALC Taipei is pursuing a long-term roadmap: influencing Taiwan's public digital policy toward open-source frameworks, partnering with universities to teach upstream contribution methodologies, and growing its grassroots OpenSource4You community. Future plans include delegations to Community Over Code events in Beijing and Glasgow, and early-stage planning to host a C/C event in Taipei — with aspirations toward establishing a Taiwan Open Source Foundation.
