Two field studies are presented: the first validated stable distributed model training across Nvidia A100 nodes in Quebec and AMD MI300X nodes in Atlanta, managed from Frankfurt, using Cilium/WireGuard P2P tunnels and frameworks like PyTorch Elastic, Ray, and vLLM. The second study extended this to dynamic, energy-aware orchestration using federated learning with the Flower AI framework, provisioning and deprovisioning GPU workers based on real-time electricity abundance signals from WattTime.
