# Bringing Claude Code and Claude Cowork to government

Anthropic has launched Claude Code and Claude Cowork in public beta for government agencies via Claude for Government Desktop, running in a FedRAMP High authorized environment. The release includes governance features like department-level administration, SCIM group mappings, spend controls tied to appropriated funds, and hash-chained tamper-evident audit logs. Agencies can configure seat tiers with model and spending limits, and a FedRAMP Secure Configuration Guide plus penetration-test summaries are available for security teams. No separate cloud-provider relationship is needed to get started.
