Browser built-in search and ATAG A.3.5.1

An exploration of whether browser built-in text search (Ctrl/Cmd+F) can satisfy the ATAG 2.0 criterion A.3.5.1 (Text Search) for browser-based authoring tools. The criterion requires that editing views support text search with matching, no-match indication, and bidirectional search. After consulting accessibility experts, the conclusion is that browser built-in search is sufficient to meet this criterion for browser-based tools, provided all necessary content is visible and findable. Caveats include limitations with alternative text for rendered images and imperfect screen reader experiences with in-page search results.
