The solution is decomposing monolithic agents into multi-agent systems with bounded, distributed responsibilities. This introduces a new trade-off between horizontal scaling (adding specialized agents, increasing coordination overhead) and vertical scaling (embedding capabilities within existing agents, increasing per-agent complexity).
