Tony Goacher built self-syncing festival badges called CrowdClock, each featuring a ring of 16 addressable RGB LEDs driven by an ESP32 microcontroller. Using the ESP-NOW wireless protocol, each badge broadcasts its local clock tick and updates to the highest received value from nearby badges. This leaderless approach allows all badges within radio range to automatically synchronize their LED sequences without any pairing, infrastructure, or master device. Project files are available on GitHub.
