Rather than bolting AI onto existing chat tools, Buzz gives agents their own cryptographic identities, channel memberships, and signed event history alongside human team members. The backend is a Rust modular monolith using Nostr-style signed events, with Postgres as the durable store, Redis for ephemeral pub/sub, and S3-compatible object storage. Key features include channels, YAML workflows, Git hosting, full-text search, a JSON-first CLI, and an ACP harness that bridges coding agents like Goose, Codex, and Claude Code into workspace channels via MCP tools. The architecture separates durable acceptance from live delivery, uses tenant context derived server-side for multi-community isolation, and maintains a hash-chained audit log. Currently a developer preview, several features including workflow approval resumption and some workflow actions are incomplete.
