# CachyOS Starts 2026 By Switching To Plasma Login Manager & Live ISO Using Wayland

CachyOS released its first 2026 ISO with several updates: Limine becomes the default bootloader, Btrfs installations now use compression level one, and the distribution switches to KDE's Plasma Login Manager (replacing SDDM) with Wayland as the default display server.
