Cloudflare has launched two new features for AI Gateway: Identity-aware AI Gateway (open beta) and User Insights (generally available). Identity-aware AI Gateway integrates with Cloudflare Access to attach verified user identities to every AI request, enabling per-user spend limits, policy enforcement, and elimination of shared API keys. User Insights builds behavioral baselines for every user and agent by analyzing traffic patterns, then flags accounts that deviate significantly from their own historical norms — using a combination of per-user p95 session cost and an account-wide p99 ceiling to filter out noise. The system surfaces potential rogue agent behavior or compromised credentials without blocking anyone, giving admins a focused list of anomalous accounts to investigate. Upcoming features include task-based smart routing to cheaper models and prompt classification to distinguish work-related from personal AI usage.
